One downside with grading in the discussion board format is that I am not able to highlight specific areas where there are typos, wrong/confusing phrasing, and other errors.
This is good because studies have shown that teachers who use the red editing pen too much can cause the student have an imbalanced view of their writing skills. Mistakes that can be easily corrected by an editor are the last things a writer should worry about and teachers should never point out every mistake. This is why I give you general comments about the overall success of failures of your text.
HOWEVER, if you would like to keep pushing your writing skills, knowing what you did wrong is just as important as what you did right.
So, if you would like me to line edit your writing, please give me a PRINTED copy of your text at any time throughout the semester and I will mark it up.
